BVS experts
The Bundesverband öffentlich bestellter und vereidigter sowie qualifizierter Sachverständiger e.V. (BVS) – the federal association of publicly appointed, sworn and qualified experts – is the largest association of experts in Germany. With around 3,000 members organised in 12 state associations and 12 specialist associations, the BVS covers more than 250 fields of expertise.
What the BVS does:
- Representing the profession: The BVS stands up for the interests of experts towards politics, business, the judiciary and the public.
- Developing professional standards: The association develops fundamental standards for experts’ work to ensure quality and professionalism across the sector.
- Public advocacy: Through active public relations work, the BVS enhances the reputation and understanding of expert services in society.
- Knowledgeable point of contact: The association is the central point of contact for all questions relating to expert services.
- Involvement in legislation: The BVS takes part in general and specialist legislative processes to help shape the framework for experts.
- Promoting continuing education: With events, seminars and conferences, the association supports the ongoing professional development of its members.
- Supporting aspiring experts: The BVS nurtures new talent through mentoring programmes and offers support on the path to public appointment and swearing-in.
- Organising events: The association organises specialist events such as the Deutscher Sachverständigentag (German Experts’ Day) and the Deutscher Kunstsachverständigentag (German Art Experts’ Day), which serve professional exchange and further training.
- Specialist publications: With its association and trade journal “DIE SACHVERSTÄNDIGEN”, the BVS keeps readers informed about current developments and specialist topics in the field.
Through this wide range of services, the BVS makes a major contribution to quality assurance and the ongoing development of expert services in Germany.
