BVD app (Berufsverband Discjockey von 1982 E. V.)
The Berufsverband Discjockey e.V. is a nationwide umbrella association for DJs, founded in 1982. Based in Braunschweig, it represents a broad spectrum: not only mobile and resident DJs, but also artists, managers, music producers, technology suppliers and many other players in the music industry.
The Berufsverband Discjockey e.V. works to advance the professional development and recognition of DJs. It encourages professional exchange, supports the development of a recognised occupational profile – including IHK (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) certification – and organises regional meet-ups through its many regional representatives. Workshops, meet-ups and events strengthen networking and cohesion across the industry.
The Berufsverband Discjockey e.V. is also active on health issues, for example by helping to develop the so-called “DJ licence”, which raises DJs' awareness of volume levels and has since been obtained by many. Beyond its membership, the association connects players across the entertainment industry to make shared interests visible.
The Berufsverband Discjockey e.V. offers its members career benefits such as access to training and further education, discounts with partners, trade magazines, equipment tests, templates (e.g. for contracts) and insurance designed specifically for DJs. With projects such as MIXCON x BVD e.V. at ProLight & Sound and its own DJ magazine, the association creates platforms for knowledge sharing, inspiration and cross-industry dialogue.
As a strong community, the Berufsverband Discjockey e.V. is far more than a club: it is a point of contact, multiplier, adviser and network all in one – always focused on the professional and personal development of music creators in Germany.
