APS (Aktionsbündnis Patientensicherheit)
The APS (Aktionsbündnis Patientensicherheit e.V.) is a German non-profit organisation dedicated to improving patient safety in healthcare. The APS aims to reduce the risk of errors and harm to patients during medical care and to raise the quality of healthcare.
The core tasks and aims of the APS include:
- Promoting patient safety: The APS works to make patients safer in hospitals, doctors’ surgeries and other healthcare facilities – through education, awareness-raising and the development of recommendations for action.
- Sharing best practices: The alliance collects and shares experience and proven practices from the field to promote safety and quality of treatment in medical care.
- Education and training: The APS organises training and professional development for medical staff to raise awareness of patient safety and offer practical solutions.
- Advice and support: The alliance advises healthcare institutions and provides resources that can help improve patient safety.
- Political advocacy: The APS campaigns at a political level for a better framework in healthcare, to safeguard patient safety in the long term.
The Aktionsbündnis Patientensicherheit is a key player in the German healthcare system, helping to minimise risks and strengthen patients’ trust in medical care.
